Personal Injury

Minor v. Boat Owner/Operator

An 11 year old boy suffered a serious leg injury in a boating accident.  An inflatable tube flew out of the boat and the towing rope (which had not been disconnected from tube after use) caught the boy’s leg fracturing his tibia and severing nerves below the knee. The lawsuit was filed against the boat operator and the boat owner. The case was resolved with confidential settlement shortly before trial.

Widow v. Equipment Operator and his Employer

A 50 year old man was killed when his motorcycle was struck by a front-end loader. His widow sued the loader operator and his employer. Defense argued that the motorcycle was speeding at the time of collision. We utilized an accident reconstruction expert and extensive scene investigation along with eyewitnesses to establish speed and location of vehicles at impact. The case was resolved by confidential settlement at mediation.

Perino v. Apex Industries and Emory

A 68 year old woman (Perino) driving to work on highway 169 in a construction zone was struck from the rear by a pickup. Perino suffered an injury to her neck and traumatic anosmia (loss of sense of smell and partial loss of sense of taste). A lawsuit was filed against the pickup driver and his employer. Defendants attempted to minimize the impact and contested causation of injuries. I utilized a computer animation during the doctor’s testimony to explain to the jury the anatomy associated with sense of smell and how traumatic anosmia can occur in a rear-end collision. Click here to view the computer animation that was created for this case. This animation was critical in helping the jury understand my client’s unique injury and ultimately award her $730,000.

I was very impressed with Kris. He was very supportive and helped me through the trial. I had never testified before and was quite scared and he helped me through it. He always kept us informed and up to date on what was going on. I was impressed with the study of our issue and the detail he did to prepare. He was very professional in court and very prepared. He is just a down to earth guy and never made you feel you were beneath him and that you asked a dumb question. Great attorney. Read Review at Lawyers.com
